Chiefs name captain, alternates for season

The Spokane Chiefs named their captains and alternate captains on Tuesday for the upcoming Western Hockey League season.

The team named 20-year-old left wing Jevon Desautels as captain. The alternate captains are fellow 20-year-olds Scott Lynch and Gary Gladue, both defensemen, along with center Chad Klassen and left wing Jeff Lynch, both 19 .

“Jevon is a player that has earned the respect of other players in the league, in our dressing room and of the coaching staff,” said coach Al Conroy. “He sets an example on and off the ice for all the players to follow. We have a very good leadership core. All of our captains are character guys who have established themselves in the locker room and should be a good supporting cast for Jevon.”
