Since mealtime is family time, it’s important for the whole family to sit together. That’s why this do-it-yourself high chair project was designed without a tray.

Little ones can slide right up to the dinner table just like everyone else.

The safe, sturdy and comfortable design features rounded edges and corners, and all screws are recessed and plugged. Nylon straps keep the child securely in place, and cutouts in the seat allow little legs to fit easily.

Simple and inexpensive to build, the high chair requires just two small sheets of cabinet-grade plywood.

First, trace the pieces onto plywood and cut everything out. Next, sand and assemble using glue, dowels and screws.

To finish, apply stain or paint and attach the nylon safety straps. The included teddy bear design can be traced and painted or burned into the wood, or the builder can personalize the design or just leave the chair plain.

The completed high chair measures 28 inches high by 18 inches wide by 19 inches deep.

The High Chair plan, No. 820, is $9.95 and includes step-by-step instructions with photos, full-size traceable patterns, a complete shopping list and cutting schedule and a toll-free help line for project questions.

A package of four plans for children’s furniture, No. C79, is $24.95 and includes a rocking chair, toy chest, table and desk. A catalog picturing hundreds of do-it-yourself projects is $2.

Please include $4 for postage and handling (except catalog-only orders) and allow about two weeks for delivery.
