Breakfast Cookies a tasty idea

Have cookies for breakfast without worrying what Mom thinks.

Quaker is making new cookies that are meant to be eaten with morning coffee. The big, soft cookies are made with oatmeal and are more akin to granola bars than Oreos.

Food panel tasters liked the idea of munching the cookies for breakfast. They gave both the Oatmeal Raisin and Apple Cinnamon flavors four out of five stars for both flavor and value.

“Soft, chewy, not too sweet. This would be great for grabbing on the run,” said Donald Clegg.

“A great grab-and-go breakfast,” Skip Hubbard agreed.

Nancy Robinson said she liked the chewy texture of the cookies and the convenience but added that they were a little bland.

“Could use a bit more flavor but would go great with coffee,” she said.

Marilyn Moore said the cookies were filling. “I’d probably feel guilty eating a cookie for breakfast. Dip it in milk or coffee,” she said.

Larry Inman thought the cookies were a bit dry.

“Good flavor, but got to have milk or coffee with this, because they’re a little too dry and chewy.”
