Raivio simply the best

The Spokesman-Review

No one can dispute he is the best. He’s better than Bill Bradley, Elgin Baylor, John Havlicek, K.C. Jones, Bob Pettit, Billy Packer and even Pete Maravich.

Of course, he’s better than Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell and Bill Walton.

He’s better than Larry Bird, Earvin Johnson, Adrian Dantley, Michael Jordon, Sam Perkins, Christian Laettner, Bobby Hurley and J.J. Reddick.

All those guys – and many others – were pretty great, but there is no one better at making free throws than Gonzaga’s Derek Raivio.

At 93.7 percent, he is the greatest free-throw shooter in the history of the NCAA.

If that is not truly amazing, I don’t know what is.
