Orioles 4, Rockies 2: At Baltimore, Nick Markakis hit a two-run homer and scored twice, leading Baltimore past Jeff Francis and Colorado.
Reds 4, Indians 3: At Cincinnati, Homer Bailey benefited from Cincinnati’s three home runs, including the 577th of Ken Griffey Jr.’s career, to win his major league debut as the Reds beat Cleveland.
Yankees 5, Pirates 4 (10): At New York, Derek Jeter hit a game-winning infield single as New York overcame a defensive blunder to beat Pittsburgh.
Nationals 8, Twins 5: At Minneapolis, Dmitri Young continued his tear with three hits and three RBIs and Washington got the victory over Minnesota. Ryan Zimmerman added two hits and drove in two runs for Washington.
Astros 5, White Sox 2: At Chicago, Lance Berkman and Phil Garner got ejected and Houston got a great slide from Hunter Pence for a go-ahead run in the victory over Chicago.
Rangers 9, Brewers 6: At Arlington, Texas, Sammy Sosa was 3 for 5 with an RBI double that capped a four-run fourth inning and Texas held off Milwaukee. Prince Fielder hit his National League-leading 22nd home for the Brewers.
Royals 8, Phillies 4: At Kansas City, Mo., Mark Grudzielanek and Mike Sweeney homered in a six-run second inning to lead Kansas City to the victory over Philadelphia.
Angels 10, Cardinals 6: At St. Louis, Casey Kotchman drove in three runs, including two in a six-run seventh inning, as Los Angeles defeated St. Louis.
Marlins 14, Devil Rays 8: At Miami, Jeremy Hermida hit a grand slam to start Florida’s rally from a six-run deficit, Hanley Ramirez had four hits and the Marlins defeated Tampa Bay.
Red Sox 10, Diamondbacks 3: At Phoenix, J.D. Drew hit a pair of three-run homers and drove in a career-high seven runs, and Josh Beckett improved to 9-0 with a five-hitter as Boston routed Arizona.
Dodgers 4, Blue Jays 3 (10): At Los Angeles, pinch-hitter Olmedo Saenz hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th and Luis Gonzalez also hit a two-run shot as Los Angeles beat Toronto.
Athletics 5, Giants 3 (10): At San Francisco, Shannon Stewart hit a two-out, two-run single to carry Oakland past San Francisco.
