Hearing set on Timber Creek plan
The Kootenai County commission will hold a second public hearing in June on a controversial gated housing development overlooking Hayden Lake.
The commission will limit the June 14 hearing to testimony on wetlands, water quality and storm water issues associated with the proposed 57-acre Timber Creek development.
McDougal Brothers Investment of Oregon wants to cluster 46 homes on a basalt bluff overlooking the north side of the lake off English Point Road.
Earlier this month the company invited University of Idaho geological engineering professor Stan Miller and Hayden Lake Recreational Water and Sewer District members to tour the property, County Planner Mark Mussman said.
Miller, who has reviewed other local developments with wetland and water issues, plans to submit written comments on his observations, Mussman said.
The commission also will tour the property the day before the hearing.
The 6 p.m. hearing is at the Kootenai County Administration Building, 451 Government Way.
