All-Inland Empire League teams

All-league teams were announced in Inland Empire League soccer, volleyball and football.

Football

For a second straight year, Lake City High senior Byron Hout, a two-way starter at middle linebacker and offensive tackle, has been named 5A IEL player of the year.

Other player-of-the-year honors are: Post Falls senior wide receiver Levi Buckles (offensive player of the year); LC senior free safety Christian Hanna (defensive player of the year); Lewiston senior quarterback Tom Kerr (offensive back of the year); Lewiston senior Michael Schulz (defensive back of the year); LC senior Sean Jolin (defensive lineman of the year); and Lewiston junior Ryan Young (newcomer of the year). Lewiston coach Emmett Dougherty was named coach of the year.

Players named to the first-team offense are: Post Falls junior Nikk Reinhardt (QB); LC senior B.J. Palmer and PF senior Randy Hamilton (running backs); LC senior Kyle Graves, Lewiston senior P.J. Munoz and Post Falls senior Brandon Brubaker (wide receivers); LC senior Ethan Griswold, Post Falls seniors Jacob King and Ryan Chapin and Lewiston seniors Grady Davis and Clint Beale (linemen).

Players named to the first-team defense are: Davis, LC senior Matt Jerezcek and Post Falls senior Bryson Gilbert (linemen); LC senior Billy Clifford, LC junior Jared Heston, Post Falls senior Andy Crateau and Coeur d’Alene junior Matt Chadwick (linebackers); and CdA senior Matt Conger, Lewiston senior Justin Borgen and Lewiston junior Ridge Fuentes (defensive backs).

Players named to the second-team offense are: Bubba Goodwin, Nate Clinton, Nick Snyder, Brian Duffy and Brad Mitchell of CdA; Hanna, Mason Tweedt and Thomas Mayo of LC; and Schulz, Devon Brown and Cody Hays of Lewiston.

Players named to the second-team defense are: Cole Amende, Scott Baxter and Travis Ries of Post Falls; Hays and Tyler Nilsson of Lewiston; Kyle Womeldorff, Josh Forbes and Johnny Carlson of CdA; and Vinny Vitagliano and Sean Jackson of LC.

•Lakeland senior Shawn Hiebert was named the 4A IEL defensive player of the year.

Other honors went to: Sandpoint senior Kyle Gibson (offensive player of the year); Lakeland senior Ryan Litzko (offensive lineman of the year); and Lakeland senior Ryan Burnett (defensive lineman of the year). Lakeland coach Tim Kiefer was named coach of the year.

Players named to the first-team offense are: Sandpoint senior Ryan Armbruster (QB); Hiebert, Sandpoint senior Sione Puailoa and Moscow senior Dan Mosman (RB); Sandpoint senior Matt Shay (tight end); Moscow senior Anthony Williams (WR); and Sandpoint seniors Will Fancher and Tanner Roos, Lakeland seniors Mitch Ulmer and Spencer Goodall and Moscow senior Matt Snyder (linemen).

Players named to the first-team defense are: Sandpoint seniors Brian Buck and Nick Hadeen, Lakeland juniors Brady Schweikert and Curtis Bennion and Moscow junior Spencer Hubbard (linemen); Lakeland senior Scott Carr, Moscow junior Michael Baszier and Shay and Sandpoint senior Mat Lawrence (LB); and Gibson, Lakeland senior Kyle Vandever, Lakeland junior Jason McKinney and Moscow junior John Bieker (DB).

Players given honorable mention are: Blake Reeser, Kyle McCrite, C.J. Schelin, Caleb Howard, Dylan Cloyd and John Novak of Lakeland; Zach Hull, Mychael Washington, Robert Scott, Karl Weaver, Jake Price, Skylor Pierson and Ethan Richards of Moscow; and Ethan Vest, David Duarte, Jimmy Byers, Thomas Cartwright, Drew Anderson, Jake Semones, Cory Hawkins and Will Piatt of Sandpoint.

Volleyball

Maddie Dolny of Moscow was named the IEL’s most valuable player.

Savanna Blinn of Lewiston was named newcomer of the year. Moscow coach Melanie Leituala was named coach of the year.

Named to the first team are: Colleen Lopez of Moscow; Kama Griffitts and Natalie Stewart of Coeur d’Alene; and Abby Helander, Koko James and Piper Wahlin of Sandpoint.

Named to the second team are: Hanna Johnson and Shelby Robb of CdA; Ashley Kelley of Lake City; Carly Ax of Lewiston; Brigitte Lowe of Moscow; and Brooke DeMers of Sandpoint.

Soccer

Sophomore forward Daniel Anderson of Sandpoint was named the IEL boys offensive player of the year.

Coeur d’Alene senior Jalon Eborall was named the defensive player of the year. Moscow sophomore and CdA sophomore Forrest Walker were named the newcomers of the year. Lewiston goalie Cody Arrasmith was named goalkeeper of the year. Moscow coach Jared Vreeland was named coach of the year.

Named to the first team are: Lewiston senior Andy Perez and Lake City senior Evan Palo (forwards); CdA junior Robby Astin, Moscow senior Dom Trevisan, CdA senior Cameron Vandall and Post Falls junior Griffen Hoerner (midfielders); CdA senior Marc Hilbert (GK); and Sandpoint senior Alex Crossingham, CdA senior Jon Latorre, Sandpoint senior Gunnar Paulsen and Sandpoint junior Tanner French (defenders).

Named to the second team are: Sam Frank (Lakeland); Spencer Swerin, Adam Crossingham and Ben Murray (Sandpoint); Nick Lenihan and Tyler Powers (LC); Jason Vetsch, Jordon Eborall and Jon Schmehl (CdA); and Matt Martin and Alec Stannard (Moscow).

•Lake City senior Ciara Kremer was named the IEL girls most valuable player.

LC junior Shannon Fraser was named goalie of the year; Coeur d’Alene senior Amanda Wemple was named defender of the year; CdA junior Sadie Simon was named offensive player of the year; and Sandpoint junior Bailey Hewitt was named newcomer of the year. LC coach Matt Ruchti was named coach of the year.

Named to the first team are: CdA senior Kaylee Nowoj, Moscow sophomore Kerry Moller, Lewiston senior Janie Perez, LC senior Aly Houghton and Sandpoint junior Liz Stone (forwards); LC senior Emma Hawn, CdA sophomore Megan Roletto, CdA senior Marissa Poorboy, Moscow senior Sarah Redinger and Sandpoint junior Brittany Oakley (midfielders); and Post Falls junior Charlie Evans (defender).

Named to the second team are: Alisha Mertz and Brittney Clawson (Sandpoint); Nicole Madeiros and Marlee Elmer (LC); Jaymian Stuermer and Bailey Thompson (Lakeland); Hayley Smith and Shandra Naegle (CdA); Tareyn White (PF); Kenna Gerdes (Moscow); and Ember Gillespie (Lewiston).
