Fresh Sheet: Fresh Abundance ready to bloom
Here are the signs that spring can’t be far away: The snowdrops are blooming and new Fresh Abundance outlets are popping up.
The local food delivery experts opened a second location in Spokane Valley on Saturday in the old Amicarella’s Valley Produce at Best Road and 32nd Ave. They’ll sell locally grown produce, organic fruits and vegetables and natural household products.
The store will be a pick up location for Fresh Abundance members and it is open to the public. Members pay a registration fee and annual dues to have the business bring local and organic produce to their doorsteps.
Owner BrightSpirit Hendrix said they’ll plant produce in the three acres of farmland at the store and will hold organic gardening classes there. They’re also planning a farmers’ market this spring.
It is Fresh Abundance’s second location. They also have a store at 1001 W. 25th Ave., behind Wilson Elementary. A third location on North Division Street is also in the works.
The new Valley store will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The store is at 3324 S. Best Road.
