KSU ends long drought against KU

Michael Beasley scored 25 points, Bill Walker added 19 and No. 22 Kansas State (15-4, 5-0 Big 12) ended a 24-year, home-court losing streak against archrival Kansas (20-1, 5-1) with an 84-75 victory Wednesday night against the previously unbeaten No. 2 Jayhawks.

Kansas lost in Manhattan, Kan., for the first time since 1983.

(1) Memphis 89, Houston 77: At Houston, Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 30 points and Joey Dorsey had 22 rebounds to lead the Tigers (20-0, 6-0 C-USA) over the Cougars (15-4, 4-1).

(6) Georgetown 74, St. John’s 42: At New York, sophomore reserve Vernon Macklin scored a career-high 18 points and the Hoyas (17-2, 7-1 Big East) routed the Red Storm (7-12, 1-7).

(8) Michigan State 51, Illinois 41: Drew Neitzel scored 15 points and the Spartans (19-2, 7-1 Big Ten) beat the visiting Illini (10-12, 2-7).

(23) Texas A&M 80, (10) Texas 63: Josh Carter scored 19 points and the host Aggies (17-4, 3-3 Big 12) cruised past Texas (16-4, 3-2).

(16) Drake 75, Creighton 65: At Des Moines, Iowa, Josh Young tied a career-high with 24 points and the Bulldogs (19-1, 10-0 MVC) beat the Bluejays (14-6, 5-5) for their 15th straight victory.

(18) Pittsburgh 69, Villanova 57: Sam Young scored 15 points to lead the host Panthers (17-4, 5-3 Big East) past the Wildcats (13-6, 3-5).

(24) Mississippi 74, (19) Vanderbilt 58: At Oxford, Miss., Chris Warren scored 20 points and Eniel Polynice added 18 to lead the Rebels (16-3, 3-3 SEC) over the Commodores (17-4, 2-4).

Women

(1) Connecticut 71, South Florida 48: Maya Moore scored 23 points and the Huskies (20-0, 7-0 Big East) routed the Bulls (11-9, 1-6) in Hartford, Conn.

(6) Baylor 61, (25) Texas 60: At Waco, Texas, Angela Tisdale hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 19 seconds left and the Bears (19-1, 7-0 Big 12) nipped the Longhorns (15-6, 3-4).
