The Whitworth men are ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division III West Region and 22nd in the nation, according the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Pirates are defending Northwest Conference and NCAA West Region champions.

Whitworth’s women are ranked second in the West and 25th in the nation. The Pirates finished tied for second in the Northwest Conference and fourth in the regional meet.

Neither team has ever been ranked as high in the NCAA Division III preseason polls.
