Group offers fish dinner Fridays

The Knights of Columbus will host a fish dinner every Friday during Lent starting this week in the cafeteria of St. Patrick Catholic School, 2706 E. Queen Ave.

The Stations of the Cross, presented by students of the school, will begin the evening at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served from 6 to 8 p.m.

The cost to attend is $7.50 per person or $20 per family. The proceeds will benefit tuition for students of families in need of financial assistance in the Hillyard neighborhood.

More Lenten events

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3307 W. Rowan Ave., will present soup suppers Wednesdays during Lent at 6 pm.

Services will be at 5 and 7 p.m.

Covenant United Methodist Church, 15515 N. Gleneden Drive, will present, “Movies that Make Us Think Again,” every Sunday during Lent at 5 p.m.

This Sunday will feature the movie “Chocolat.”

Call to Action-Spokane will present a Sunday Lenten series, “The Challenge of Jesus: Our Call to Action,” Sunday and March 8, 15 and 22 at 3 p.m. in the Jesuit House on the Gonzaga campus.

The speakers for this series include Michael Cook, Patrick McCormick, Shonna Bartlett, Ron Eberley and Catherine Siejk.

Concert

The Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort Wright Drive, will present “A Musical Potpourri,” Sunday at 7 p.m.

The concert will feature Spokane musicians Andrea Goddard, Lyle Morse and Nancy Davis.

There is a suggested donation of $12 or $7 for students.

The proceeds of the concert will benefit the church’s music fund.

School events

St. Patrick Catholic School, 2706 E. Queen, will present an open house Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

A prayer and a general overview of the school will kick off the evening and teachers will be available in their classrooms to answer any questions.

All Saints Catholic School will hold information nights at both of its campuses this week.

Parents with preschoolers who will be 3 years old before Aug. 31, are invited to the preschool, 1505 E. 34th Ave., Monday at 7 p.m. The school has classes for 3-year-olds on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4- and 5-year-olds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and there is a new Barely 5 class held Mondays through Fridays.

Parents of students in kindergarten through the eighth grade can visit information night on March 5 at 7 p.m. in the building located at 3510 E. 18th Ave.

Baby-sitting will be available both nights.

Singles groups

Christian Singles Fellowship will hold its 21st annual Winter Singles Retreat March 6 through 8 at Riverview Bible Camp on the Pend Oreille River.

The weekend will include fellowship, music, inspirational messages and free-time. Speakers include Pastor Bob Smith of Mount Spokane Church.

The cost to attend is $68, and the deadline to register is Friday.
