Idaho reports 800 swine flu cases since Sept. 1

BOISE — State health officials say nearly 800 people have tested positive for the swine flu in the past three months, and about 30 of those cases were reported in the past week. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare also reported this week that swine flu has contributed to 15 deaths. Children under the age of 10 have accounted for more than a quarter of the total number of hospitalizations related to the swine flu in Idaho. The state agency says this is highly unusual and young children should be immunized to prevent illness.
