Down To Earth Fall magazine publishes Saturday

The much-anticipated fall issue of Down to Earth NW magazine will be released Saturday, Sept. 12, and can be found in The Spokesman-Review that day and at more than 100 locations in Spokane and North Idaho. The issue includes everything from an explanation of the Transition Initiative, which encourages local communities to come together in new ways to prepare for possible societal changes; and a look at how the Coeur d’Alene Tribe is finding surprising success with a stream rehabilitation effort. Readers will meet the new Spokane Riverkeeper, whose role is to promote the good things about the waterway and encourage efforts to clean up past problems; and learn about an innovative local effort to power local cars with discarded restaurant grease. Even more stories, columns and profiles will be available on this site. If you have ideas for future magazine topics or online stories, or thoughts on the current magazine, please contact us at info@downtoearthnw.com.
