Taste Spokane Friday night

From Staff Reports

The Northern Quest Resort and Casino will host the sixth annual Taste Spokane on Friday.

Taste Spokane features tastes from local wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants. The fundraiser benefits the Wishing Star Foundation, a nonprofit organization which grants wishes to children and young adults ages 3 to 21 who have a life-threatening illness.

Dry Fly Distillery, Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, Iron Horse Brewery, Northern Lights Brewery, Pend d’Oreille Winery, Townshend Cellars, Ciao Mambo, Taste of India, Post Street Ale House, Steam Plant Microbrewery and Pub, Santé Restaurant and Charcuterie, Love @ First Bite Cupcakes and many others will be serving at this year’s event.

Chef LJ Klink, co-owner of Klink’s on the Lake at Williams Lake, who appeared on the Food Network’s “Extreme Chef,” will work with a former “wish kid” named Anthony to make bananas foster at the event. Anthony is now cancer-free after battling stage 4 rabdomyosarcoma for more than a year. He loves cooking and theater.

Taste Spokane will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Northern Quest Resort and Casino in Airway Heights. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Each ticket grants five tastes and a souvenir wine glass. Additional tastes are $2 each or $20 per dozen.
