North Idaho wins Bigfoot

Braxton Tucker scored 28 points and tournament MVP Bryce Leavitt 25 as North Idaho College rallied from an 11-point second-half deficit to defeat CC Spokane 95-88 on Sunday night in the championship game of the Bigfoot Classic at Spokane Community College.

Leavitt got 14 of his points at the free-throw line, where the Cardinals made 24 of 30 to the Sasquatch’s 8 of 11. He also grabbed eight rebounds and had six assists. NIC’s Fuquan Niles led all rebounders with nine.

The Cardinals outrebounded the Sasquatch by a margin of 48-34.

The Sasquatch had five players in double figures, led by Sam Druffel with 22 points. Kwinn Hanson added 19 points, Jack Nygaard 17, Chase Haack 15 and Dean Richey 11. Haack grabbed eight rebounds and TJ Bracey collected a game-high nine assists.

The Sasquatch made 16 of 39 3-point attempts to account for more than half of their points.

Besides Leavitt, Cardinals Tucker and Niles were named to the all-tournament team. CCS players Haack and Hanson were also chosen.
