Obituary: Burt, Casey Allen

Age 17

BURT, Casey Allen Was born on September 29, 1996 in Richland, WA and left us on June 22, 2014 far too soon.

Commercial fishing and sports were his passion.

Growing up in Richland he played many sports, but baseball was his favorite then.

In 2012 he moved to Nine Mile Falls where he continued his love of sports, cross country, soccer and this fall was going to play football for the first time.

He had many hobbies, x-box, hockey, skate boarding and skiing at Silver Mountain.

He was a devoted Young Life member where he enjoyed the friendship and lessons on life.

His other passion was commercial fishing where he grew to excel.

He was so young when he started that he couldn’t lift the anchors and it was always his goal each year to accomplish this, which he did.

He loved driving the 4-wheels on the beach and the freedom to be yourself.

As sports and fishing where important to him, friends and family were more so.

He was always loving and caring to everyone and never knew a stranger.

His smile would brighten up a room.

You’ve left a void in our lives that no one can fill.

You’re big smile is gone but not forgotten.

There are no good-byes only, “See You Soon, Son”.

Casey is survived by his mother Kathy Burt of Nine Mile Falls, WA, his father Steve Burt of Benton City, WA, sister Erin Burt of Richland, WA; half-brother, Steven Roberts of Kennewick, WA; grandmothers, Becky Flaherty of Richland, WA, Barbara Curry of Kennewick, WA, Irene Burt of Benton City, WA and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Howard Flaherty, Harold Burt and a special great-uncle, Roy Fowler.

A celebration of Casey’s short life will be held August 16th, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the gym at Lakeside High School in Suncrest - Nine Mile Falls, WA.
