Former Michigan teammates want Jim Harbaugh to coach school’s football team

 (Associated Press)

As Anthony Carter gathered with his former teammates in Florida on Nov. 29 to watch the Michigan-Ohio State game, they shared one of the most disappointing seasons in modern UM history winding down. So they reached out to a Michigan hero of Ohio State games past and reminded Jim Harbaugh how much he meant to them, and UM. Putting Harbaugh on speakerphone, the group reminisced. “We just basically talked about old times,” Carter (pictured), a three-time All-America receiver who played at UM from 1979 to 1982, recalled this week. “What it is for me, talking about old times. It wasn’t so much about coming and joining Michigan football because we know he’s the football coach for the San Francisco 49ers. But he knows deep down inside that former players want him to come back.” – Detroit Free Press
