Obituary: Brodsky, John T.

BRODSKY, John T. (Age 70) Passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2014.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathleen Maloney Brodsky, his children, John Jr. (Megan) Brodsky, Lisa (Chris) Harris, Molly (Sean) Hurley, Ben (Robin) Brodsky, Melissa (Sheldon Leibole-fiancĂŠ) Brodsky, along with 10 grandchildren: Katie, Emma, and Molly Brodsky; Jack, Molly, and Macie Harris; Jordan and Shannon Hurley; and Lauren and Hudson Brodsky.

Also survived by his mother, Joan Brodsky, sisters Sallie Gore and Peggy Chriss, and brothers Scott and Pete Brodsky.

In addition, Kath’s siblings John, Molly, Mimi, Nancy, Mary and Justin, to whom he was a brother.

Preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Brodsky.

John was born and raised in Iowa and moved to Spokane in 1964 to attend Gonzaga University where he proudly played basketball for his beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs.

John’s life centered around time with family, making friends with everyone he encountered, coaching and watching his kids and grandkids play sports, and rounds of golf with his wide network of friends.

A celebration of life will be held January 3, 2015, 11:00 am at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 302 E. Boone Avenue, Spokane, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to the Gonzaga University Athletic Enhancement Fund.

He is loved and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
