Green dropped from Louisiana festival

From Wire Reports

Cee Lo Green has been dropped as the headline act of an annual Louisiana music festival following his brush with the law.

The Grammy-winning singer, rapper and producer was scheduled to headline the Gretna Heritage Festival in Gretna, Louisiana, Sunday, Oct. 5. Festival officials said in a news release Friday that he’ll be replaced by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Green pleaded no contest last week to one felony count of furnishing Ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles. He was sentenced to probation and community service.

Green left the NBC show “The Voice” after he was charged.

Stefani, hubby move past babies

Gwen Stefani says she was nervous about working with one person in particular when she started on “The Voice” as a panelist: her husband.

Gavin Rossdale was the “coach” brought in to give advice to members of Stefani’s team of aspiring singers on the NBC music competition show, which starts its new season on Sept. 22. Rossdale was the lead singer of the British rock band Bush.

“It was just awkward,” she said. “We’ve only collaborated on making babies.”

There are three of those, the latest born this spring. Stefani, a solo artist and lead singer of the band No Doubt, said that not only had she and Rossdale never worked together on a music project, they weren’t even fans of each other’s music before getting to know each other.

Stefani, 44, said she worried what would happen if they fought about what advice to give a particular contestant. But she said it didn’t happen.

“It was just so fun,” she said. “It was right at the beginning of the show and I was just getting my feet wet, so having him there was kind of rad.”

Obama checks off Stonehenge visit

President Barack Obama has crossed one off the bucket list.

Obama carved out time Friday to play tourist, stopping at Stonehenge before flying back to Washington after attending a NATO summit in Wales.

Stonehenge was built in three phases between 3000 B.C. and 1600 B.C. Archaeologists agree it was a temple – but to which gods, and exactly how it was used, remains unclear.

Asked whether Stonehenge was something he’d always wanted to see, Obama said it was.

“Knocked it off the bucket list,” he added. “It’s spectacular. It’s spectacular. It’s a special place.”
