The Spokane Buddhist Temple celebrates its 25th annual Spring Food Festival on Sunday.

The event features teriyaki chicken or vegetarian bento boxes with rice and cucumber salad for $12 as well as a variety of sushi for $5 to $7, and Japanese desserts and green tea smoothies for $4. Preorder online at www.spokanebuddhisttemple.org to dine in or take out.

Online Tools for Home Chefs

Cole’s Kickstarter

Cole’s Fine Foods has launched a Kickstarter campaign.

The gluten-free grocer and bakeshop is trying to raise $7,000 for a new display freezer and additional shelving. Rewards for pledges range from a cookie or scone to granola, a baguette, caramel-apple tart and yearlong Dessert of the Month club. 

The shop opened in August 2014, about five years after owner Jeanine Smith was diagnosed with celiac disease.

Gourmet Way

Tiffani Roesler is the new owner of this gourmet food and kitchen store in Hayden. She previously worked in the fitness industry as a gym manager and personal trainer.

The store offers wine tastings on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and cooking classes on Thursdays and Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. There’s a wine club, too.
