UPDATES WEDNESDAY 12/30
– River City has tapped more of its Midnight Marmot imperial stout over French oak chips with raspberries, one of the specialty beers featured in its recent International Marmot Festival .
– Bellwether is serving a small-batch Nightshade Braggot honey beer brewed with jalapenos, Roma tomatoes, tomato leaves and red pepper flakes.
– Enoteca in Post Falls is pouring the 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages of Deschutes’ The Abyss barrel-aged imperial stout, with a $10 vertical tasting of 4-ounce pours of each.
UPDATES TUESDAY 12/29
– River City will be featured in a Meet the Maker event Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the North Side Onion , with Riverkeeper IPA, Midnight Marmot Imperial Stout, last year’s Celebrator Doppelbock and wine barrel-aged Huckleberry Ale on tap.
– The weekly Wednesday small-batch special at Daft Badger will be a big India brown ale dubbed Windigo (9.1 percent alcohol by volume, 55 International Bitterness Units).
A look ahead at this year’s final local week in craft beer:
– No-Li will pour a Pomegranate Raspberry Golden Ale at its Brewsday Tuesday event from 5:30 to 7:30.
– Iron Goat releases its 52nd and final Year of the Goat weekly small-batch specialty Wednesday starting at 4, with special prizes for the seven people who have made it in every week.
– Steady Flow Growler House, which pours pints as well as beer to go, has a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Party on Thursday starting at 10 p.m. with drink specials and a prize for the best mask.
– Selkirk Abbey again hosts a New Year’s Day Brunch on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with beer, coffee and mimosas for sale along with breakfast from Big Bear Deli for an additional $10.
– Mad Bomber’s second annual Punks for a Princess fundraiser on New Year’s Day, for a local girl in need of a service dog, starts with a Polar Plunge in Hayden Lake at 11 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. punk rock afterparty at the brewery; registration is $25 at the event.
