Try local Flora Yogurt for free
Flora Yogurt Co. is hosting a free yogurt tasting this afternoon.
The event offers the chance to try several yogurt styles – Viili, Filmjolk, Bulgarian, Mediterranean – as well as buttermilk and creme fraiche. There also will be appetizers and recipes to share.
The small-batch yogurt company began producing yogurt last month. Owner Karyna Hamilton, of Spokane, began making yogurt for friends and family. A successful Kickstarter campaign last year helped cover the cost of a custom, 10-gallon pasteurizer.
Flora shares kitchen space with Batch Bakeshop at 2023 W. Dean Ave. in Spokane’s West Central neighborhood. The tasting will be there today from 4 to 6 p.m.
