Coming up: Tonight vs. Portland, 6 p.m. (KHQ); Saturday vs. Memphis, 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
Outlook: The Zags open the second half of the conference season against Portland, which sits in a three-way tie for sixth with a 3-6 first-half record. The Pilots rank in the upper half of the WCC in scoring, field-goal percentage, 3-point percentage, free-throw percentage, assists and rebounding margin, but they needed last-second 3-pointers by Alec Wintering to claim two of their three conference wins. Kevin Pangos and Przemek Karnowski combined for 32 of GU’s last 35 points as the visiting Zags held off Portland 87-75 in early January. Wing Kevin Bailey, sidelined with a foot injury in the first meeting, leads the Pilots at 14.1 points per game, following by Wintering’s 13.2.
