Signed The University of Washington signed junior college quarterback Tony Rodriguez to a financial aid agreement Tuesday, giving the Huskies additional depth at the position going into the 2015 season. Rodriguez was the offensive player of the year on the Region I all-California junior college team last fall playing for City College of San Francisco.

Surrendered An Argentine businessman who was indicted by U.S. authorities in connection to the FIFA corruption case turned himself in to Italian police. Bolzano police official Giuseppe Tricarico said that Alejandro Burzaco arrived at the local police station with an Italian lawyer and a Spanish- speaking lawyer. Burzaco, who is accused of being involved in a $110 million bribe, was placed under house arrest after a hearing.

Extended Louisville extended men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino’s contract four years through the 2025-26 season with his base salary increasing from $4.48 million next season to $5.093 million annually after that.

Granted Walk-on point guard Braxton Bonds was granted his release by Tennessee and is leaving the Volunteers’ program. Bonds is a nephew of former baseball star Barry Bonds.

Committed The son of Boston Celtics executive and former BYU star Danny Ainge committed to play at Utah State. Coach Tim Duryea said that the Aggies signed Crew Ainge to its 2015-16 basketball class. He will not play this season because of a Latter-day Saints mission.

Awarded The voice of hockey in America Mike Emrick will receive the Vin Scully Award for lifetime achievement. Emrick, currently calling the Stanley Cup Final between Tampa Bay and Chicago, becomes the eighth recipient of the prestigious honor given by WFUV Radio.

Transferred Former Indiana forward Hanner Mosquera- Perea is transferring to East Tennessee State and must sit out the 2015-16 season because of NCAA transfer rules.
