Obituary: White, Harvey Richard

WHITE, Harvey Richard (Age 76) Harvey Richard White of Kapolei, HI, passed away at home Sunday, February 8th, 2015, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born September 8th, 1938 in Billings, MT, to John and Bernice White.

Harvey was raised in Post Falls, ID, and attended Post Falls High School.

Harvey married Mary Lou McKnight in July of 1959.

After marrying, Harvey became an ironworker, joining Ironworkers local 14.

Harvey worked for Artistic Iron in Spokane, WA for 25 years.

After the closing of Artistic Iron, Harvey accepted a superintendent job for Airport Industrial Park Association 1987 to build warehouses for AIPA, at the Honolulu Airport.

After working for AIPA for two years, Harvey started his own business, Koapaka Construction Company, with his partner, Robert Hadley.

Harvey retired in 2010 from Ironworkers local 625.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou; his children, Butch White (Jeane) Chatteroy, WA; Vickie McLean (Bob) Greenacres, WA; Jackie Musser (Karl), Mollala, OR; Keva Hevener (Roger) Kissimmee, FL; Sherri Ballman (Gus) Deer Park, WA; Jerry White (Chris) Moses Lake, WA; Virgil White (Donna) Makakilo, HI; Troy White (Heather) Chattaroy, WA.

Harvey is also survived by two brothers, Steve White, Post Falls, ID and Bill White (Donna) Coeur d’Alene, ID; and one sister Kathy Simler (Pat) Kamiah, ID; 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, pet and best friend, Snoopy.

Harvey loved sharing his passion of deep sea fishing with his children, offering to take them out to ‘S’ bouy in hopes of landing the big one.

He was a strong, successful man.

He built many things, among the greatest was the bridge to our hearts!

Memorial Services were February 14, 2015 at AIPA Industrial Park, Honolulu, HI.

The family suggest Memorials in his name be sent to Island Hospice, 1301 Young St, Ste 300, Honolulu, HI.
