New spirit

A Loon Lake distillery has released its latest spirit.

Fewer than 100 bottles of aged corn whiskey from 2 Loons Distillery are available. The distillery began crafting its aged corn whiskey last September. It’s made from 100 percent Washington corn and aged in a toasted American oak barrel for less than a year.

Husband-and-wife distillers Trisha and Greg Schwartz opened 2 Loons last fall. They also produce vodka, white corn whiskey and Blackberry Loon Lightning. Other spirits in the works are: bourbon, cinnamon whiskey, gin and Mint Loon Lightning.

The tasting room is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and by appointment at 3950 Third Ave.
