Hilton sibling pleads guilty to on-flight assault

From Wire Reports

Paris Hilton’s youngest brother, Conrad, agreed to plead guilty to assaulting flight attendants on a trip from London to Los Angeles last year during which authorities say he called other passengers “peasants” and threatened to kill crew members.

Hilton, 20, signed the agreement Tuesday and is set to appear in court Thursday, but will officially plead guilty to the misdemeanor later, said the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail, a year of probation and a $5,000 fine, but under the deal prosecutors said they would ask a judge to give Hilton only probation.

Hilton’s attorney, Robert Shapiro, did not immediately reply to an after-hours phone message seeking comment. But Shapiro said previously that Hilton’s behavior may have been “the effects of a sleeping pill” or some similar circumstance.

According to an FBI affidavit, Hilton acknowledged calling other passengers “peasants” and said he would have killed one flight attendant if another passenger hadn’t calmed him down during the 10-hour July 31 flight.

Pretenders singer to release book

Chrissie Hynde will tell the story of her life, with all its ups and downs.

Penguin Random House announced Tuesday that the Pretenders singer was working on an “an incredibly frank” memoir that will come out Sept. 8. The book is currently untitled.

According to Doubleday, Hynde will write about her childhood in Akron, Ohio, offer a “strikingly intimate portrayal” of the punk rock scene of the 1970s and a “bittersweet” look back at the Pretenders, who had such hits as “Brass in Pocket” and “Talk of the Town,” but lost two original band members to drug-related deaths.

Hynde, 63, said in a statement issued through her publisher that she hoped her book would make people dance, have fun, possibly cry and maybe reach for a guitar.

Country singer shares baby’s first pic

Carrie Underwood is a new mom, and like all proud parents, she’s showing him off in a photo.

The multiplatinum country singer gave birth to Isaiah Michael Fisher on Friday, and she announced it to the world Tuesday on Twitter. She posted a picture of Isaiah, showing his tiny hand and a bit of his mouth.

He is the first child for Underwood, 31, and her husband, Mike Fisher, who plays for the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators.
