One more for the Moores

Another local brewery is stepping forward to support the family of the late Coeur d’Alene Police Sgt. Greg Moore.

Mad Bomber in Hayden is hosting a benefit Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Greg and Lindy Moore Fund . Moore was killed in the line of duty last week.

There will be a silent auction along with food from Blue Smoke BBQ , which is donating all of its proceeds to the fund. Mad Bomber is donating 20 percent of taproom sales throughout the day.

Previous brewery benefits for the Moores were held in Coeur d’Alene at Trickster’s and Daft Badger, and by a group of Spokane breweries at 238 Brewing.

Mad Bomber, which is rebuilding its beer stock as it continues to transition to a larger new seven-barrel system, plans to have new pale and brown ale recipes on tap for the event along with its recently released Citra Bomb IPA (8.2 percent alcohol by volume, 120 International Bittering Units).

That fruity, in-demand hop isn’t part of the Bomber’s regular arsenal, but the brewery received 11 pounds as a “fermenter-warming” gift.
