UPDATE THURSDAY 4/7
– Bellwether is serving its first lager, Zack’s Springtime Pilsner, along with the latest iteration of its IPA, Fibber McGee’s V.
UPDATE TUESDAY 4/5
– This week’s Wednesday small-batch offering at Daft Badger is a traditional German-style hefeweizen (6.6 percent alcohol by volume) with a delicate banana and clove nose.
A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:
MONDAY
– No-Li’s monthly LocALE pint glass series recognizes the Garland neighborhood; stop in on Mondays during April between 5 and 8 and buy one for $5, or get one free with a pint purchase of Rise & Grind coffee milk stout. The brewery crew also will be doing volunteer work in the neighborhood Saturday morning at The Guilds’ School followed by a beer event (see that day’s listings for details).
– Twelve String’s beer of the week is Archtop Amber, with $1 off pints and growler fills.
THURSDAY
– Coeur d’Alene’s Filling Station on 5th celebrates its first anniversary with an 11-tap takeover by Fremont from Thursday through Saturday, kicked off by a firkin tapping of grapefruit and rosemary-infused Interurban IPA on Thursday at 6. The lineup includes Sour Weisse, Wandering Wheat, Summer Ale, Universale and session pales, Interburban standard and The Sister imperial IPAs, regular and barrel-aged Dark Star imperial stout, and barrel-aged Abominable plus a version infused with coffee and cinnamon.
– Nectar Wine and Beer welcomes its April brewery of the month , Stone, from 6 to 8 p.m. with $10 flights of six offerings: the regular, gluten-reduced Delicious, Enjoy By 04.20.16 and Pataskala Red X IPAs, Americano stout and Saison du Buff collaboration with Dogfish Head and Victory.
FRIDAY
– The Lantern taps Iron Goat’s barrel-aged Goatnik imperial stout as part of its monthlong 10th anniversary celebration .
– A Boiler 7 IPA brewed with earthy, spicy Nugget and Crystal hops is set for release at the Steam Plant.
SATURDAY
– More than 20 beer offerings are on the menu for The Big LeBREWski festival during Schweitzer Mountain Resort’s Schpring Finale on Saturday and Sunday. Prices are $5 for a single beer, $15 for a 10-ounce mug with three fills and $22 for a 16-ounce mug with three fills (refill tickets available).
– No-Li hosts a launch party for its newly released Big Juicy canned IPA at noon at the Brown Derby Tavern.
SUNDAY
– Northern Quest hosts a three-course Big Sky brewers dinner with accompanying beers from 4 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
