Some odds and ends from the week in local craft beer:
– Iron Goat opens today at its new downtown location at Second and Adams (look for the Goat’s Lemon Gose collaboration with Everybody’s Brewing on tap, along with the return of the Irish Kate ). The kitchen won’t be ready for a few weeks, but outside food is welcome in the meantime.
– Cheney’s New Boundary today taps a Slow Wit Belgian-style wheat beer aged for three months in a chardonnay barrel.
– No-Li has announced the first four beers scheduled to pour at its Red, White & No-Li Small Batch Festival on May 21: Double Down, Tandem Imperial Red finished with Westland Distillery’s Sherry Wood whiskey; The Juice is Loose, extra dry-hopped Big Juicy IPA; Arctic Cellar, Winter Warmer aged in Townshend Cellars red wine barrels; and Purple Rain, a light lager brewed with purple corn.
– Slate Creek’s Double Black IPA is the latest local beer to find its way into a frozen dessert, being featured in a flavor at Coeur d’Alene’s Sweet Peaks Ice Cream , which opens today.
– Bombastic Brewing , preparing to open in Hayden, is taking advance reservations for its growler club .
