– Black Label is running a $4 pint special on its Irish-style Rees’ Red all weekend for the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
UPDATES WEDNESDAY 3/9
– Iron Goat has tapped its spring seasonal Irish Kate imperial red, which comes in at an immense 9.5 percent alcohol by volume (compared to last year’s 7.7).
– Wild Cherry Cream Ale is the new small-batch flavor-infused brew tapped today at Hopped Up .
– Mad Bomber will follow up Wednesday’s bacon and beer dinner at Uva in Coeur d’Alene with a tap takeover Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. featuring five of the brewery’s beers plus appetizer specials.
UPDATES TUESDAY 3/8
– Daft Badger’s weekly Wednesday small-batch release will be a relatively mild pepper beer brewed with jalapeno and Anaheim chilies.
– Five Lagunitas selections will be pouring in a tap takeover Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Steady Flow Growler House, with a brewery rep on hand and the Shameless Sausages food truck.
A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:
MONDAY
– The Shadle neighborhood is featured in No-Li’s LocALE Monday series this month, with a custom glass available for $5 or free with a pint purchase of Spin Cycle Red between 5 and 8 p.m.
– Waddell’s today released its Imperial Oatmeal Alligator Stout , a beefed-up version of its regular stout brewed with house-roasted oats.
– Manito Taphouse kicks off its March Madness IPA competition, with the winner among the field of 16 Washington brews receiving a permanent tap handle for the rest of the year; vote for your favorites on Facebook.
– Downdraft has tapped the latest in its single-keg Spirited Suds cocktail flavor-infused series, Straw-beer-Rita.
– The beer of the week at Twelve String is Arpeggio Pale, with $3 pints and $8 growler fills.
THURSDAY
– Laughing Dog launches its new kitchen at the Sandpoint pub, with a menu featuring flatbreads.
FRIDAY
– Perry Street celebrates its second anniversary Friday from 4 to 11 and Saturday from noon to 11, with the return of Kumquat IPA, bicycle raffles to benefit Grant Elementary, a “golden growler” giveaway, food trucks and live music on the patio Saturday afternoon and a DJ inside that night.
– The fourth anniversary party at Pints Alehouse on Friday and Saturday starting at 4 p.m. will feature a half-dozen specialty beers from the cellar each day.
SATURDAY
– Orlison opens its downtown taproom at 10 a.m. for the St. Patrick’s Day parade , with $3 pints of Havanuther pilsner and the 3 Ninjas food truck ($1 off pint with food receipt).
– Daft Badger marks the release of its first bottled beers – bombers of Summer’s Envy IPA and Josiah’s Revenge imperial stout – with a party starting at noon under a tent in the parking lot, with food specials,giveaways and live music by New Jack City and Boom Shack.
