Iron Goat is officially on the move to its new home downtown . With the last brew at the original location on East Mallon completed on Tuesday, tanks started being trucked Friday to the soon-to-open spot at Second and Adams. The Mallon taproom will remain open through the end of the month.

– Two more local collaboration partners have been announced for Spokane Craft Beer Week – Perry Street/River City, and New Boundary/238 – following the previously revealed Iron Goat/Bale Breaker and No-Li/Orlison. Look for several more before the festivities begin May 16.

– Laughing Dog started serving food at the Sandpoint-area pub on Thursday, with flatbreads and soft pretzels from a wood-fired oven along with sandwiches, soups and salads. But there’s a bit of a catch: Canines no longer are allowed inside the famously dog-friendly facility, for health permit reasons. Pooches will continue to be welcome on the patio (which may be expanded) when the weather warms.

– Selkirk Abbey launched its Utah distribution on Monday, with owner/brewer Jeff Whitman calling it “five times larger than our biggest order to date.” The Belgian-themed brewery recently introduced a lower-alcohol Abbey Single, dubbed IV , in keeping with Utah laws that limit distribution of stronger beers.

– Finally, a word of warning to those preparing for an authentic St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Thursday (when it can be authentically celebrated): Remember, the Guinness Extra Stout we get around here actually is brewed in Canada (much to the consternation of purists, one of whom filed a lawsuit over the situation). For the real Irish stuff, stick to the Draught, or better yet, the stronger, roastier Foreign Export Stout, if you can find it.

(And don’t get me started on all the local craft brewers who were doing green-dyed beers today in honor of the St. Paddy’s parade. Isn’t that the sort of atrocity that should be reserved for macro swill?)
