LOVETT, Charles Spring
(Age 94)

Born September 30, 1921 in Seattle, WA.

He died at home on May 5, 2016.

“Charlie” was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Lovett.


He is survived by his children: Edward G. Vetter, Joseph P. Lovett, Molly and Andrew Cady, Jacqueline and Randall Yost.

His grandchildren: Connie Maxine and Andrew Charles Lovett, Andrew Scott and Angel Yvonne Cady, Robert Charles, Christopher Quincy, and Bradley Terrell Legg, Kevan Michael and Jenna Haynie, Matthew Adam and Brandy Wallace, Jessica Elizabeth and Fernando Luna and Miranda Lynn Yost.

His great-grandchildren: Ava Marie Ferguson, Kya Velma Cady, Brittany Ann Robison and Justin Michael Cady, Brandon Michael Young and Weston Reilly Robinson, Savanah Elizabeth Cortez, Sheldon Quincy Legg, Zariah Jean, Maleah Jo, Anoni Dean, and Quinton Richard Haynie, Noah Michael, Hazel May, and Ezra Mark Wallace, Elizabeth Belle Luna, Kolby Lee and Jordyn Faye Yost.

His great-great-grandchild: Paisley Rae Fulton.
Charlie served in the Navy during World War II.

He worked for the United States Postal Service until he retired.

In his retirement he volunteered as a guide at the Monach Museum.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He gave his time to Spokanimal.

He enjoyed his study of history and reading.


Charlie had the trip of a lifetime going back East on a “Honor Guard Flight”.

He spent the last years enjoying the company of many new friends whether walking at Northtown Mall or at the Hillyard Senior Center.

He loved to dance.
Special thanks to Hospice of Spokane and Family First Agency for the special care they provided.


But Charles and Catharine, both only children, will be remembered for the line of family they leave behind as their legacy.


A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 6:00pm- 7:00pm with Rosary to follow at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division Street, Spokane.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 1:00pm at the Rose Chapel of Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division Street.

A graveside service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
