Xavier Guillory plays key role in Lewis and Clark’s win over Shadle Park
Xavier Guillory’s 67-yard touchdown reception put Lewis and Clark in front of Shadle Park. His interception in the end zone seconds before halftime made sure the Tigers stayed ahead for good.
In a nonleague game Friday night between Greater Spokane League teams, Lewis and Clark (2-4) defeated the Highlanders 28-14 at Albi Stadium.
After Shadle Park’s Xavier Wicks scored his second touchdown to knot the score at 14, on the first play of the next drive, LC’s Michael Flaherty found a wide-open Guillory for the long score.
Flaherty’s pass hung in the wind and forced Guillory to await its arrival. Despite the hang time, Guillory was never touched by a defender and ran away from the Highlanders’ secondary once he hauled in the ball.
Flaherty was 16-for-20 passing for 296 yards and two scores and added 58 yards rushing. Guillory had six receptions for 107 yards.
Following Guillory’s score, Shadle Park (1-4) marched within scoring range before picking off Carson Doyle.
Wicks finished with 30 carries for 183 yards and two scores but was held to 46 yards in the second half.
