Morning prep roundup: Bayley Brennan’s balanced night coasts Post Falls to victory

Girls basketball: Bayley Brennan added 12 points, seven assists with six steals and Post Falls rolled over visiting Hermiston (Or) 74-35 in a nonleague game on Wednesday.

Tyler McCliment-Call added 22 points for the Trojans.

And good news for Greater Spokane League basketball fans: postseason basketball is headed back to the Spokane Arena this season.

The District 8 4A/3A boys and girls basketball tournaments will be held Feb. 15-16.

Boys basketball: Danny Bradbury had 27 points and Newport beat Priest River in a nonleague game. Caden Brennan scored 18 points for Priest River.

Also, Liberty boys basketball head coach Mike Thacker reached the 500 win club after the Lancers beat Reardan.

Wrestling: Yunadi Bogatyrev defeated Terrell Sanders, the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the state, 3-1 and Mead beat University. Six other wrestling meets happened across the area last night spanning from the Greater Spokane League to the Great Northern League. Check out the results here.

Gymnastics: Ferris’ Jessica Harpel won floor and vault to take the all-around award (34.525 points), but Central Valley won the meet with 156.275 overall points. Cheney followed with 152.475 points, then Ferris with 132.55 to take third overall. Cheney’s Sophia VanWormer took second all-around honors with 34.075 points.
