CdA-based New Jersey Mining

expands North Idaho holdings

New Jersey Mining Co. has expanded its land holdings adjacent to the Golden Chest Mine in northern Idaho.

The land includes 218 acres of patented mining claims acquired through an exploration and mining lease, called Buckskin Claim Group, and 700 acres of nonpatented mining claims acquired through staking, the Coeur d’Alene-based company said in a news release.

The addition extends the land area of the Golden Chest Mine 1 1/2 miles farther west. Combined with the Golden Chest property and the company’s Toboggan property, which is 3 miles to the north, the acquisition gives New Jersey Mining control of more than 4,500 acres of ground along the Murray Gold Belt.

The Golden Chest Mine is currently producing gold from both open pit and underground operations with all ore shipped to the nearby New Jersey Mill for processing, according to the release.
