Father, son win writing awards for the Spokesman Review

Father-son duo Alan and Matt Liere, both frequent contributors to The Spokesman-Review, won numerous awards at the annual Northwest Outdoor Writers Association conference last week.

Matt Liere won three first-place awards in the excellence of craft category as well as two second-place awards. Alan Liere won two third-place awards – one for his weekly hunting and fishing report. He also received an Outdoor Writing Legacy award, honoring his career as an outdoor writer.
