First Interstate Center for the Arts celebrates reopening with ZZ Ward, Pickwick
After six months of upgrades and renovations, to the tune of $23 million, the First Interstate Center for the Arts, formerly known as the INB Performing Arts Center, is almost ready to open its doors and kick off a calendar packed with music, magic, dancing and more.
On Monday, Pennsylvania-born, Roseburg, Oregon-raised blues-rock singer ZZ Ward and Seattle indie-R&B quintet Pickwick will be the first to grace the stage.
NASCAR fans might recognize Ward as the voice of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series opening song, a cover of Tom Petty’s “Runnin’ Down a Dream.”
Ward released her second full-length album, “The Storm,” which features Fantastic Negrito and Gary Clark Jr., last year.
And Pickwick are no strangers to Spokane, having performed at the Bartlett in August of last year and January in support of 2017’s “LoveJoys.”
In June, lead singer Galen Disston was in town to shoot a music video at Hello Sugar in Kendall Yards, part of Spokane physician and musician Jonathan Pasma’s solo project Ferris Pier.
