Centenarian: Jean Eileen Cudby Reedman

Jean Eileen Cudby Reedman will celebrate her 100th birthday on Aug. 13. She was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and has lived in Eastern Washington for 61 years.

Reedman met her late husband John Henry Reedman at the Air Force base in Edmonton. They were married in 1944.

Among the highlights of her life is her lifetime membership to the Order of the Eastern Star. She also belonged to the Printers Women’s Auxiliary of The Spokesman-Review where she replaced her mother, Sophia, after her death in 1952.

Reedman attributes her long and healthy life to quitting smoking at age 81 and accepting life as it came along.

Reedman has two children: Sandra (Reedman) Carr, of Spokane; and Elizabeth (Reedman) Ridinger, of Orangevale, California. She has three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
