2 stabbings reported Saturday afternoon

Two stabbings were reported to Spokane police Saturday afternoon.

One stabbing occurred near the 1400 block of East Mission Avenue near Mission Park and sent two injured people to separate area hospitals at about 4:30 p.m., Sgt. Teresa Fuller said. Police are still collecting evidence, she said.

Fuller said Spokane police also responded to a call of a stabbing in the 700 block of South Maple Street at about the same time, although police were not immediately able to verify that an alleged victim had actually been stabbed.

The subject had minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene, she said.

He was not cooperative with police and told officers, “maybe the cuts on his hands were from broken stuff in the apartment,” Fuller said.
