Spokane police arrest man accused in North Side shooting

Spokane police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of shooting a man three times earlier this month in north Spokane.

Rosselder J. Badger, 45, was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for first-degree assault.

The charge stems from a shooting reported at around 1 p.m. Dec. 6 near 1704 E. Wabash Ave., police said. According to witness statements, Badger and the victim, Glenn Dawson, got into a confrontation in an apartment over whether Badger stole money while Dawson was in the shower.

During the confrontation, Dawson was shot three times: in the arm, leg and torso, according to court records. Witnesses said Badger then fled the scene in Dawson’s car. Meanwhile, police said Dawson was unable to provide his address or location to first responders so they could help. Spokane police ultimately used GPS to determine his position.

Records show Dawson was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment. He was no longer a patient at the hospital on Thursday morning.

A Spokane Police Anti-Crime Team was deployed Tuesday after the police department’s Major Crimes Unit developed information on Badger’s location. Badger was arrested without incident and booked into the Spokane County Jail.

Badger has prior convictions including multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license and attempted robbery.
