House, Senate Ed committees take public testimony at ‘listening session’

The House and Senate Education committees are taking public testimony this morning, in a joint “listening session” in the Capitol Auditorium from 8-10:30 a.m. “The public is invited to speak … on matters pertaining to education,” according to the meeting agenda. Those speaking will be limited to three minutes apiece; they’re also being asked to provide a written copy of their statement. In addition, the committees will accept comments submitted by email; they can be sent to hedu@house.idaho.gov.

House Education Chairman Reed DeMordaunt, R-Eagle, said, "We want to invite all citizens to attend and share their thoughts on how our education system can be improved." The listening session also is being video streamed on Idaho Public TV’s “InSession” service; you can watch live here; just click on “Auditorium.”
