Here's a news item from the Associated Press: BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Restaurant owners in Driggs and other Idaho resort towns will have to wait a little longer for a change in state law to make liquor licenses more accessible. The House State Affairs Committee agreed Thursday to hold a bill designed to relax booze rules for eateries more than a dozen tourist towns across the state, effectively killing it. Republican Rep. Marc Gibbs of Grace made a case for the change, telling lawmakers that current rules only allow two liquor licenses at restaurants in Driggs. He says other restaurant owners in town are frustrated they can't sell cocktails to tourists expecting more than beer and wine with dinner. But several lawmakers on the committee raised concerns that adding more liquor licenses to small communities would depress the resale value of existing liquor licenses.
