More Info: The County Commission voted Tuesday to charge users with boats registered in Idaho a $4 daily launch fee or $20 for an annual pass. Owners with boats registered out of state will pay double: $8 a day or $40 a year.
DFO: Isn't this the same issue that former Bayview marina owner Wally Wright fought and beat some 20 years ago in District Court? Is it legal to charge out-of-state boaters more to launch than in-state boaters. In the previous court test, I believe, the county tried to charge only out-of-state boaters -- and had to refund the money collected after it lost in court. I don't know how long this is going to fly.
