Briefs: Theater’s Finances In Question

Musician Gary Edwards sent the following letter to Brian Doig, executive director of Lake City Playhouse: "It’s been 2 ½ months since I worked for the Lake City Playhouse and you still haven’t paid me the $700 due me for playing bass in the orchestra for "Little Shop of Horrors." I’ve been very patient and tried to negotiate a barter or other solution to this problem. Last week you failed to call me on Tuesday as promised. You then failed to respond to my visit and request for a call. You don’t return my messages. I noticed there was an Avista shut-off notice on the LC Playhouse door for over $3,000 last week when I came to speak to you again. I’ve decided it isn’t worth the aggravation to worry about this debt you owe me. I’m going to write this off to experience, call it a donation and learn from this lesson. Please send me a receipt for my $700 donation of services to your Lake City Playhouse."
