Edie Brooks Quits CdA School Board

Chairwoman Edie (Brooks) McLachlan, pictured, who expressed disappointment with election results in the Coeur d'Alene School Board elections Tuesday, resigned her position at a special meeting earlier today, effective June 30. McLachlan (Brooks), newly married, read a prepared letter of resignation siting personal reasons and will be moving away from Coeur d'Alene, according to a Coeur d'Alene School District news release.  McLahlan (Brooks) said she had hoped to finish out her term on the school board.  "Your knowledge, experience and background will be sorely missed," Superintendent Hazel Bauman was quoted saying.  "You have served our community and students well.  It is with regret we say goodbye but we congratulate you on the next phase of your life."
