Motorcycle Stolen In 1975 Is Found

A motorcycle reported stolen nearly 37 years ago was recovered Thursday in Spokane. An inspector with the Washington State Patrol, Donna LaMarca, was examining the 1972 Honda XL250 motorcycle for title purposes when the bike’s vehicle identification number indicated it was possibly stolen. The report was so old it was only available on microfiche. LaMarca located the report and concluded the bike had been reported stolen on Nov. 21, 1975. The original owner, Don Arndt, 62, picked up the motorcycle today. Arndt was 25 when it was stolen from his backyard in Spokane Valley. A sheriff’s deputy responded to his home to take a report, but “that was the only contact I’d ever had with them.” He was shocked to hear WSP located the bike Thursday/Meghann M. Cuniff, SR. More here.

Question: Have you ever had something expensive stolen from you?
