Huckleberries Online

What Is It?

I received a Facebook email from a FBF. She asks: "Any idea what this is? On a telephone pole NW of the 9th Street overpass." My guess. Some sort of speed radar device. Didn't we talk about something like this a month or so ago. How about you?

DFO: I have the answer to my original question: What is this? CPD tells Huckleberries that it's a Jamartech device (Click here). It's purpose is to check traffic/speeds in an area to determine when is the best time of day to deploy traffic officers, if necessary. CPD uses these devices after receiving neighborhood complaints about speeding traffic. Often, an officer will be deployed but won't catch anyone because s/he is there at the wrong time of day. The device doesn't take photos of license plates.
