Huckleberries Online

Nematomorpha

Here's another superb video documentary (via Vimeo) by photo buddy Brian Plonka of Hauser Lake. Brian provides this cutline for "Nematomorpha." Quoth: "I was walking through my friends property near Hauser Lake, Idaho., Saturday afternoon to clear my head after a long trip back east to my dads' funeral when this creature caught my eye in a very small pond. Returning to the property the next day with a GoPro I waited several hours for the 'horsehair worm" to reappear. I was able to film the parasite of sorts for about an hour. After the initial first shoot it never reappeared. I revisited the pond Monday-Wenesday for several more hours piecing together the transitions I thought necessary to complete the short film. Several times a year I make a point to work on something to stay as fresh as I can, Not a paying gig for this work. However just a simple camera and pushing my own comfort level is great meditation. To learn more about his weird creation of nature visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nematomorpha."
