Wild Card/Thursday — 12.17.15

I appreciate the coverage of Idaho education issues by Kevin Richert, Clark Corbin and the rest of the Idaho Education News staff. No newspaper in Idaho is providing the type of education reporting as this independent outfit is. Without Idaho Education News, we would know little re: the four-day school week in a growing number of rural school districts and the continued underfunding of education by Gov. Butch Otter and his GOP legislative colleagues. Maybe such independent coverage of key issues by organizations like Idaho Education News is the wave of the future, given the decline of the newspaper industry. Who knows? Something has to fill the void to keep us informed. Here's your Thursday Wild Card ...
